The Open University Palestine Solidarity Group (OU PSG) is a group of staff from The Open University that aims to extend solidarity to the Palestinian people in their struggle for liberation and in opposition to Israel’s ongoing illegal occupation of Palestinian territory and settler-colonial apartheid practices. We aim to amplify the suppressed voices of pro-Palestinian perspectives, including those of the Palestinians themselves, as a direct response to the ongoing international academic and media silencing and misrepresentation of such views.
OUR MISSION
We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for liberation and in opposition to the ongoing occupation of Palestinian territory and settler-colonial apartheid practices of the Israeli regime.
We aim to amplify the suppressed voices of pro-Palestinian perspectives, including those of the Palestinians themselves, as a direct response to the ongoing international academic and media silencing and misrepresentation of such views.
OUR VISION
We envision a free Palestine. A state returned to its people, free from the shackles of colonialism and imperialism, and from all the interrelated systems of oppression that uphold them.
OUR VALUES
We believe in true freedom for all. We recognise the deep entanglement of all systems of oppression and how other colonised systems are connected to the subjugation of the Palestinian people. We hold to account all who directly or in their silence are complicit in the oppression of Palestine.
We are committed to challenging colonial power structures, with our focus firmly on Palestine as we witness in real-time, not only the hostility of colonialism but also the horrors of genocide in a flagrant violation of international law.
We believe no one is free until all are free.
