As a signatory of this letter, we wish to draw your attention to the recently launched Open University Divestment Campaign. The campaign – and petition – call on the OU to divest from all funds complicit with Israel and the arms industry and to remove arms companies (such as BAE Systems) from careers recruitment events. The campaign builds on the demands of an OU UCU motion passed on April 30th and has been coordinated by OU UCU, The Open University Palestine Solidarity Group and the student group OU Friends of Palestine.

If you have already signed the petition, we thank you for your support and ask you to please share and promote the petition widely. This will help more people become aware of the OU’s complicity with the ongoing genocide of Palestinians and give them the option to act or remain silent. The petition can be signed by staff, students, alumni and supporters of the OU.
